I know we all have names for our chooks, but who else has 'alias' for chickens ?

Our Bluebelle is also known as 'Roadrunner' cos she goes everywhere at a trot- looks like she is permanently late for an appointment

Margo is reffered to as 'Nosy Parker' - self explanatory really, she has her beak into everything !

Elsie has earned herself the nickname of 'Psycho chicken' that was after an amusing episode where my 11yr old was sat on his trampoline eating his lunch and Elsie hopped up onto the trampoline and made a beeline for his sarnies. He, of course, stood up and moved away, Elsie followed him , until he was running around his trampoline shouting, with Elsie hot on his heels,jumping and flapping, he was shouting 'mum,get her off, get her off!' but I was too busy laughing to be much help He couldn't get off the trampoline cos that involves sitting down to scoot off the edge - and every time he tried to sit, Elsie was there, he eventually pushed her off with his foot and announced 'that chicken is a psycho !'

Pepper is known as 'Toot' , because that's the sound she makes.

Lottie and Hattie don't have nicknames yet, sure it's just a matter of time.

that cracked me up. Mine are just called frilly knickers.. Neighbours dont half look funny when you call oi!!! Frilly Knickers!! It applys to both although Sugar's look like those baby's frilly pants

We have "wonky wattles" (Aphro - one wattle never grew properly), "curly toes" (Cassie - all her toes are crooked), "Goose" (Athene - because she's such a big lump of a hen ), "miss floppy" (Pandora 'cos her comb flops right over ), "madam" (Jenny 'cos she is one!) and "little minx" (Coffee 'cos she is one !)

Rosie is known as Demo Chicken - she always comes to be picked up for a cuddle at hen parties so everyone practices chicken handling on her; Roley Mo is Honk because she honks like a goose; Bertha is Big Bad Bossy because she is; Pom is Hop a Long as she usually has a limp after launching herself off something; Bambi is Screechy; Bella is known variously as Trouble, Naughty or Oy You Get Off My Veg Patch

Rye = stressy chicken - easily in a panic about anything

Bella = monster chicken - she is bigger and heavier than the other two and always first in line for treats.

Nutmeg - she must be very good because she hasn't got a knickname.

Yes! Right from the start, Annie was nicknamed Marilyn Monroe. This is because she is honey blonde, has always had a fluffy bottom!!! and her comb is still floppy. It looks like she is wearing a hat at a jaunty angle. Lucy, the tiniest and originally featherless has always been nicknamed Shirley Temple. This is because her character is so sparkly, who could not love her!

Giblet, my 'top chick' is alternatingly called Godzilla and Crazy Moose - she's evil to all the other girls

coco my maran is never called coco - we call her Maz or Mazza.

 

Misty gets called MistyMoo.

 

Collectively the hens are called "wits" and not chickens or hens. This came from them being called "chickychocs" and then "chocwits" and now its just "wits". (yes I know we are completely bonkers! )

We never gave our chickens proper names they just got nicknames when they arrived which werent planned so when we spoke about them everyone knew which chicken we were talking about(we have 4 chickens - 2 of each)

 

So we have Bossy, Scruffy, Red beard and Black beard/black one. The first 2 are warrens and the second 2 black rocks. All the names are pretty obvious.

Ours sometimes get called "Oi you little devils stop eating my perennials!!". Or little monkeys!! Or Pecky gets called Chicken, cause she's a scardey chicken!

We've just got Daisy aka Rocket Ronnie at the mo. She was nicknamed so because I love snooker and was watching Ronnie O'Sullivan do his stuff at the Crucible around the time that we got the girls. She might not score maximum breaks but she certainly rockets around that pen when she's a mind to!

 

Rosie and Maisie haven't managed to earn themselves nicknames -YET!
