Geoid
Tried to go online yesterday, didn't work. So I phoned a mate and they said the service was down, tried again today, still didn't work. So I got on the phone to (the useless) customer services. (wasn't on hold for long though) They said our broadband was migrating(sp?) and there would be no broadband for 14 days! But I can't understand why they are changing it, it was working fine!
Snowy
Mine's working fine Fred Is it everywhere or just in certain areas?
chelsea
ours is working ok. But I know what you mean about their customer service - they have been pretty useless every time we ring them.
Geoid
I reckon its to do with Tiscali taking over Homechoice. Because before we moved to homechoice we had tiscal broadband, then tiscali took over homechoice. Now I think that tiscali has our old broadband account and are messing around with it or something If it ain't broke, DONT FIX IT!
Guest
are you upgrading from ADSL over a BT line to LLU (ii.e. faster broadband)? If so, it can take that long, you should have had a letter telling you if you're being upgraded though. It's not totally their fault as BT tend to drag their heels. They have to send an engineer to the exchange to move your connection over from BT to Tiscali's equipment and more often than not they don't keep their appointments or they mess up the migration. I used to work in broadband customer services and it was soooooooooooo stressful. It was so bad it made me ill in the end so don't be too hard on the person at the other end of the phone line. More than likely, they'll be as frustrated (if not more!) than you. Migrations can go smoothly but if they go wrong, it's a total nightmare! Guest
I don't think so, there was no letter. oh, ok. Don't know then. There are some people in cust svcs that don't have a clue but that's usually down to training to be honest, hope you get to speak to somene who knows what they're doing. I worked in Ofcom complaints and ended up with people that had already spoken to several cust svc people! Hell it was

freddie
We're with Talktalk, had a few teething probs, but on the whole they've been fine, even through 4 engineers , a paperclip, a screwdriver, and a near breakdown by me, the technomuppet!! I'm the original turn the key, it starts girl!!
Geoid
I'm the original turn the key, it starts girl!! In this day and age, it should be like that! Even if you want to start the car you have to type in a code, put the key in, and press the start button!
Guest
oh the times I've had those words screamed at me "Can't you just flick a switch???!" I can laugh now but not at the time
Omletina Kyckling
I had an awful time with Tiscali, the customer service was awful. They kept disconnecting me at the exchange and then saying it was my router or my computer or my phone lines. It cost me a fortune ringing customer service and they never understood the problem and seemed to be just reading off a screen. In the end, I moved to O2 who have been superb - I've only had one problem since I moved and it was a faulty router. They picked up on the problem very quickly and had a new one with me the next day plus their call centres are freephone and all in the UK. missuscluck
Im with Tiscali. We have had trouble with them and yes the service was awfull. Sometimes it just stops working. I walk away and pray to god it starts to work again with out me having to ring customer services. The customer services is placed in abroad and everytime I have rang them there is a definate language barrier. They cant understand me and I cant understand them. It makes it a little difficult to sort anything out. It makes for a very long phone call. Also they never do what they say they are going to. jackiepoppies
Oh Heck! I haven't got a clue what you're all talking about I have only got dial up here and won't get ADSL for at least a year in our area My computer keeps 'switching off' the internet and then it has to redial...if I'm lucky it will re~connect at some stage and thats why it takes me all day to read and reply to the nesting box....... Yorkshire Pudding
We avoided tiscali precisely because of the appalling customer service my Mum experienced over their TV service - it simply never worked and she spent hours on the phone, emails were never answered etc. Finally she has decided to ditch it and go back to Freeview - the engineer still hasn't called to collect the tv box and is now a week late. She still has the phone and broadband services... time will tell!
Geoid
We are thinking of changing providers, but we don't know who. Any recommendations? Must be able to do TV and net. No sky though
Tessa the Duchess
We are thinking of changing providers, but we don't know who. Any recommendations? Must be able to do TV and net. No sky though My friend just changed from BT to Tiscali because she said BT were rubbish. I think which ever provider you choose, some people will have problems with it and others will be lucky I have heard very bad things about Orange, but I'm sure some people are happy with them. Our home network thing is set up with Virgin Media and we have no problems so far Tessa
