Guest
we were supposed to be going to Lake Bala this weekend in the van but when it came to it, I didn't want to be too far away from dad because he's so up and down, so we cancelled and lost some money on the deposit. No big deal as we can always go another time. But now 've got a really bad chest cold, that's 2 colds this month! So I can't even visit dad. Can't sit in the garden as it's blowing a gale and I have terrible 'you know what' cramps! well cheesed off to put it mildly s'pose I'll do a bit of housework still, worse things 'appen at sea and all that jazz! Couperwife
oh no, what a crud time you are having but, on a lighter note ... if you were away, and got a cold, you wouldnt be happy , being at home you have more time chook gazing , the rain (if it starts raining after the wind) will help your super garden look even more super and the wind will help with pollination hope you feel better soon cathy x
Tessa the Duchess
Poet, don't make yourself feel worse by doing boring housework. I suggest sitting in your conservatory, hot water bottle for the cramps, nice glass of something warming by your side, brandy springs to mind and a good book coupled with a bit of chook watching and the forum. Lovely way to spend an afternoon. Tessa

Guest
well, I've started off some sausages in onion gravy in the slow cooker (sausage and mash, comfort food!), DH has picked some spinach and broad beans from the garden to go with. I've bunged a madeira cake in the breadmaker (with a glug of Disarono in it ) will have that later with the pear and vanilla jam from the farmers' market I'm just going to close the door on the ironing waiting for hubs to bring me a cuppa and some paracetamol, that's me done for the day! Hope there's something decent on telly
