buffie
Well the new year is going at full pelt and I am in the process of getting Jimmys organised. I am arranging a stall and merchandise, this will only be available at Jimmy's or by special arangement so I hope it is going to go well. Nikki at Jimmy's has been in touch and it is all set, April 7th 2007! I am looking at a lovely Jute bag, carbon neutral badges aprons Tea Towels Mugs/ egg cups Key rings Specifically the ones that act as your £1 for a supermarket trolley This is all subject to how much it will cost but Jute bag and mugs are a def If anyone has ideas or a website to check out (nicholl industries is the stall website I am so far checking out) I would appreciate your input Emma and Andrew have already been doing some great work and I have something exciting to announce when I get full details! I have an assistant, in BHWT, coming on board soon, she is going to help with my detective leg work and will leave me a little more time for other BHWT things I am needing to organise All at BHWT really appreciate the help and support of my friends here on the Omlet forum, Lisa had a look here the other week and reported back to me and Jane, she could not believe how wonderful this forum was and what support was here for BHWT's aims! She was very impressed (a future omleteer perhaps!) Well that's my first 2007 update and I have a logo and web page going on line soon detailing all the items I uncover... January newsletter is out soon and the subject of my investigation for April's is.... Oh a subject close to our hearts but you'll have to wait! Nicola H
Well done Jayne keep up the good work.............I am hoping to persuade OH to bring me along to Jimmy's at Easter now I know the date I can work on him............
The Dogmother
Great news Buffie, so sorry that we can't be there I might have to buy a couple of the jute bags off you before then.
Cate in NZ
Fingers crossed that I can make that date as well. It sounds like it should be a great day There's an article about rescuing battery hens in this months "Grow Your Own" magazine, written by Jane Howarth. To be honest it doesn't say anything new to us, but it's a very nice article, well written and it should get the message across to some of those who aren't aware what wonderful pets hens are, and how especially gorgeous the ex batts can be . And it's all raising awareness of the BHWT..... always a good thing
ubereglu
I will see whether the local post office have a copy of it.
theherd123
Great news Buffie and im really looking forward to the Easter do at Jimmys its going to be great!!! All the goodies sound brilliant and i will have one of each too!!! I sent Jane the piccies of Flump in her jumper and Mojo before & after pics too, i could print them off & laminate them for use on the stall if you like? If you do need anymore help please just let me know as i would be more than happy to pitch in. OH is still willing to wear a chicken suit & dance to music too - now that should bring some attention to the stall!!!
Martin B
Great Idea about the dancing chicken! I'm willing to help out as always!
theherd123
Just had a brainwave - not bad considering its Friday evening!!! What about helium balloons with the BHWT logo on them??? Quite reasonable to print a couple of hundred & fill them for the kids at 50p a time, that way everyone will know about the BHWT as there will be loads being carried about! What about a balloon race too? Might have to inform the local airport though
Martin B
Great Idea, imgine Jimmy's with all of the balloons flying about!
ubereglu
I highlight that the balloon's aren't biodegradable and birds sometimes eat them. I don't think we ought to be responsible for that now do we?
buffie
That's a point liz, it's great that everyone is having ideas, believe me we will be careful with our decisions. What about a cuddly chicken, I can get those with the logo? Just found the trolley keyrings! Right now must go and be off duty as it's saturday! ubereglu
The cuddly chicken sounds good! Will it be one of those things which has a jumper and you can change the jumper on it. I have bears like that!
Martin B
I highlight that the balloon's aren't biodegradable and birds sometimes eat them. I don't think we ought to be responsible for that now do we? I'm sure you can get some organic or biodegradable baloons!
ubereglu
That's a good idea, but I think they might be too expensive for what they want as in those sort of things you have to keep costs to a minimum.
Martin B
I've just found a picture of a protest against the Battery Hen Industry. I like it!
ubereglu
Just thought I'd tell you how much I've raised from recycled hens so far. I've now raised: £9.72 I will send BHWT once the total's got to over £10.00!

Martin B
Instead of bombarding Buffie with more PM's, does anybody know how much 1 of those plastic crates cost? I think it's £30, but I'm not sure! Ta, Martin
