As some of you will already know, I have ordered a cube for my wife's birthday, although it will not be delivered until 2 months afterwards.

Her birthday came and I had the forethought to order the Omlet catalogue, so that she could see what she was getting and she was over the moon.

Anyway, last night I just happened to have a quick look on Ebay and noticed that there was a pink chicken eglu with run, which came with all the accessories and a rabbit converter too! I paid for and picked it up this morning as it was posted as buy it now. :P

My wife is completely in the dark about this, but I figured that when the cube came that I could put it back on ebay and not lose any money.

Now I have got it assembled, our rabbit hutch and run looks very tired next to it. Yes, you know what I am thinking, but, hey I i'll just have to stop in for the next few months/years to pay for it!

Now, where to buy the chooks from?

Come on now your bunnies need a nice new place to hang out :D

You know you want to keep the cube and once your wife sees it you just try and get it off her :D

Also if you will have to stay in for months and possibly years what better view than those lovely fluffy knickers those girls will be flashing all round your garden.

I call mine my garden flowers as they brighten the place up.

Also, with a cube you will be able to have more chickens!! Yahhh

What part of the country are you in, Chuck? You could try one looking up one of the farm/distributors of Meadowsweet Poultry-- healthy, well-reared hybrids with full vaccinations, sold in various parts of the country.

Hi Stephanie

I am in West Yorkshire and Meadowsweet do not appear to have any breeders up here. I have found a breeder in Silsden in West Yorkshire called Edward W Boothman. Does anyone know of this breeder and as to whether he is ok? Feedback would be most appreciated.

Ah, well there is some kind of directory of recommended breeders that Omlet has on the website, but I am unsure how to find the link -- someone should be along in a minute with advice on Mr Boothman or someone in Yorkshire.

Good luck!

You just know the rabbits need the pink eglu, don't even kid yourself it's going anywhere

Take it from someone who's had hens for all of four weeks, you won't want to go out when you've got them - better entertainment at home. You'll also get loads of visitors, so you won't be able to go out (and you'll save a fortune on food with all the eggs).

Why buy hens at all? Save your cash for treats (for them!) and adopt some ex-batts from the Battery Hen Welfare Trust. My six little adoptees would highly recommend it :D
