Mine like lettuce, coriander, sweetcorn, spinach, rocket watercress, museli, grapes, raisins tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli, cabbage leaves... not much they don't like! They will have pasta, bread, potatoes and stuff too but I try to restrict these as I think they can be a bit too filling, especially earlier on in the day, as it they won't have any appetite then for pellets. Try not to over do it with the fruit and veg though - results in runny poos!

Is it Ok to give them cheese? It is my girls' favorite thing (well, up there with grapes and porrige). Lucy is now getting PICKY and will turn her beak up at maize flakes and apple!! If she doesn't like what is in my hand she will look at it, look at me and then wipe her beak carefully on my hand as if to say no. it really amuses me.

Debbie,

A really solid cabbage will last them a while - try to get one of those that is full of tightly packed layers (think they're just sold as white cabbage). I tend to half one and my 3 hens are busy at it for most of the day, a whole one would take them a while to get into so would keep them busier longer.
