She's home

Recommended Posts

My ED got back from her trip to EuroDisney at 11.30pm last night.

She has spent the last six months dreading this trip, she hates to travel, gets really nervous and always needs the loo every hour and a half. A 12 hour coach trip was not her idea of relaxation.

When the trip got closer she started to look forward to it and although she found the journey long and boring and after constantly badgering the teachers for a toilet stop during the first stretch, she had a really good time.

She bought the teachers a box of chocolates at the services on the way home last night to say both sorry for being a pain on the first few hours of the journey and to say thankyou for taking them. We were really proud of her for that. After the initial part of the journey they put her and her friend onto the other coach which had a toilet on board which would have been sensible to start with because I did warn them in a letter with the consent form that she needed the loo a lot.

She took 240 photos  thank God for the cheap digital camera that we bought from ebay for her earlier in the year

Another milestone done and dusted, she has overcome so many social anxiety problems over the last school year. She was a total mess just before Christmas having panic attacks every day and really unhappy. We have made her go through with several trips etc that she wanted to back out of and I am so glad that we did now even though I felt like the wicked witch of the west at the time.

Sorry for long rambling post but I am so relieved and proud of her and just had to get it off my chest :D . Parenting eh who'd do it

How absolutely fantastic! I bet you are SO proud of her, and I'm so glad she had a good time. 240 photos? So if she asks anyone if they want to see her holiday photos, "no" might be a good option unless they've got a lot of time!!:lol:

Well done!

I'm so glad your daughter went and enjoyed herself. Its often worse for the parents at home imagining whats going on :?

Get the popcorn and bottle of wine in to look at the photos.

My daughter when she was younger would always want to stay over at friend's houses, this would be fine, until we would receive a call at usually 12 am to pick her up as she would be very upset and want to come home.

Thankfully she grew out of it and now goes all over the place and different countries often on her own. :D

Ho Hum I now have a happy daughter but a sad son who has just been left behind at the bus stop at the end of term. He was going into town with seven other boys but when the bus came there was only room for 7 of them so DS said he would meet them there off the next bus and they said oh no we will be in the cinema by then. :x

He is now faced with a musch longer bus journey home than normal on his own. I have said that he can get the connecting bus and come straight home or he can mooch around town as planned and go to the places he wanted to go to and not let them ruin his day it's up to him but he is not happy. This was supposed to be his first big going out with mates

Now I know why I have virtual friends if you all don't mind being called that :D

Oh that is so sad for your son  - you could just weep for them when something like that happens (well I could anyway :( ). I hope he tells his mates that its the last time he offers to stand back so they can all get on the bus.

Well done to you and your daughter though. It is so hard for both of you but so worth it when you see her confidence grow and you know you have done your job well.
