MedusA
If you've read my thread in the Chicken Clinic section, you'll know how worried I've been about Muggle, who has ben very poorly and staying with the vet for treatment and monitoring. I'm very pleased to report that the vet phoned me earlier today to say she seems much better and can come home today! She'll need to stay on the Baytril for a while, so no eggs, but definitely the best news in ages.

MedusA
Good News! and sounds like a great vet too. She is! I can't recommend Lesley at 608 Veterinary Group enough. She really knows her chickens! The most shocking (in a good way) thing was the bill! I was expecting a real whammy and it was only £32.83, including 2 nights stay. Muggle was a bit woozy last night but I think her body clock was to pot because there was no natural light where she was at the vet and the nurses kept disturbing her to make sure she drank. After a "proper" night's sleep in a makeshift pen in the spare room, she seems more like herself and is eating and drinking well. We might try her in with the girls later today for a bit of a scratch around (supervised) if the weather is good, but still bring her in again tonight as we've been told to keep her warm and quiet for a while longer. Let's hope she makes a full recovery.

Chickvic
That's good news! Where is the vet? I asked my local vet and they didn't know much about chickens! Could you pass on number/ address please?
MedusA
Hi Chickvic, It's Lesley Wilson at 608 Vetinary Broup. their main surgery is at 608 Warwick Rd, Solihull, B91 1AA Tel: 0121 705 3044, but they do have practices in Acocks Green, Bentley Heath and Sheldon. Lesley rotates surgeries. She's is absolutely brilliant! I would recommend her for any chicken problems. I found the 608 Group, when Scully was injured by a fox last year and none of the local vets could help. but Lesley is on the list of forum-approved vets in "Poultry Health" too. It's a bit of a trek from Erdington to Solihull, but definitely worth it for a vet that knows what she's talking about.
Chickvic
Thanks for that, I've added the info to my important numbers! Hopefully won't need it though

MedusA
Muggle is now out of the temporary pen in the spare room, hopefully for the final time, and back in the run with the other girls. We're going to let her stay the night in the eglu tonight. She really seems to have made a full recovery from whatever mystery infection she had. Everyone's prayers and good wishes seem to have worked, thank you.
