samneal33
Both my chickens went broody at the same time, one has come out of it and is now laying eggs again, but the other wont. it has been going on 4 weeks now, she just stays in the egloo all the time, i have to lift her out at least once a day and then close it off, but no matter what i try she wont seem to snap out of brooding what can i do ? moochoo
Pop her in a broody cage, a cat carrier will do. Make sure she has access to food and water and pop her somewhere where she'll cool down. She will need to be in it for 3-5 days and nights. After that she'll be fine. Here body temperature needs to drop so it wouldn't hurt to give her a dunk in cold water too, to cool her belly down. chelsea
keep her off of the nest as much as possible. block it off once the others have laid. Ice packs underneath the broody hen sometimes helps. I know how you feel my girls have been broody since March and one hen was broody for a stint of 8 weeks.
