Can it be used to 'fry' breadcrumbed chicken? Rosie likes to make her own version of chicken nuggets with free range chicken breasts.

The family like them, & I thought they were OK, but I like proper american fries - skinny & long & crispy

 

It was a pleasure to use though - except for that pathetic timer

Am trying some diced courgette next I think, & maybe some saute style pots too.

OK - just made some diced courgette,red onion, cherry toms & chicken with a little olive oil from my holiday in Portugal & Gorgeous fresh oregano from the same,served in pittas with Tzatziki.

 

It was WONDERFUL !!!!!

we looked at these several months ago and commented on what a good idea they seemed ... although the price and the lack of space put us off (i really do have a tiny kitchen!). I shall just have to monitor the forum's progress with it!

I blame you all! Never stray from the chicken posts I say, as I now find my in posession of the said Actifry !

 

For those thinking about buying one now, the price has gone up everywhere this week to £159. Luckily I reserved online yesterday for the special online price of £125 with Comet, when I went to collect it from the store, the instore price was £159.

 

We of course had chips last night and they were excellent. They took 35 mins for two of us, which I think is great as oven chips would need the oven to warm up before putting them in anyway.

 

Thanks for your recommendations, I can now eat chips every night if I want without feeling guilty, yay

Okay, here's your chance to put me off: what's the capacity like? There are 6 of us to feed (and the 12year old lads eat for England). Would I be able to make enough chips/sauteed spuds/sausages or whatever to feed an army?

I find it feeds us 4 easily,with room to spare, & I have a hugely hungry hubby & 2 teens.

 

I am sure it would cope...

I think you'd struggle with cooking for 6 - you'd have to make two batches and they'd be 40 mins apart ....or you'd have to make some to 'nearly cooked' stage and then do a second batch and then finish the first....you could be there all night

I'm a billy no mates on a Monday night, so tonight was my first night alone with my darling Actifry. So, it was to be sausages and chips cooked at the same time, delish! Chips not dead crispy, but they took on the flavour of the sausages. I'd definitely recommend trying it! Wonder how many more times I can cook and eat chips before I'm sick of them?

I did fab chicken stir-fry in mine, cooked the chook chunks for 4 mins then added the veg for 2 more with some 5 spice and chilli. Yummy (and )
