Grovefarm
Hi all, I've just noticed that my white chicken has lots of little grey bugs on her, they are tiny things no bigger than a pencil dot and a similar colour too, I only noticed them when I picked her up and a few minutes later noticed them on me, Yukk! Does anyone know from my vague description what they might (mite) be and what I should do to treat them. The hens dont seem any different in themselves but I think I've noticed a reduction in size of the eggs they have been producing recently! Lewis
They could be lice/mites. Try some red mite power, and have a look at: This
Egluntyne
It certainly sounds like lice. Has she got white clumps of tiny eggs at the base of her feathers, particularly around her vent? Barrier Louse Powder is very good. I'd give her and her pals a good powdering with that.
