missuscluck
Is that the same as quiche or is bacon and egg pie something different?
Mrs Frugal
My faddy boys love this version: Egg and Bacon Pie Shortcrust pastry case made with 6oz flour, 3 oz butter and 3 tbsp water 4 eggs, beaten 3-4 rashers of smoked bacon, chopped and fried gently until cooked 1/4 pint milk pinch mustard powder salt and pepper (chopped chives are nice in it too) Put the bacon in the base of the uncooked pastry case. Beat the eggs with the milk, mustard powder, seasoning and chopped chives if used. Pour into pastry case. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180C. Nice hot or cold. little cluckers
My mum used to make a cracking egg and bacon pie but I'm sure she used hard boiled eggs and it was quite deep and had a pastry lid - that's it I'm off again (goes all nostalgic)
