Nearly got a trailer tent!! Updated - Yipppeee!!

Recommended Posts

We've been bidding on ebay for one as we're outgrowing our tent and would really like a caravan but have nowhere to store one. Anyway, last week DH travelled to look at one which seemed perfect so we left it til the last minute before putting our bid in and the computer froze! We missed it. :( I was so disappointed but tried to be philosophical thinking hopefully something better is out there.

On Sunday an even better one came up so we set our limit and again bid at the last moment but this time it immediately jumped up over our budget. Sigh. :( We had agreed that if we didn't get it, we'd wait til the end of the summer and look for a bargain and it would be back in the tent for the holidays.

Anyway, this morning we had an email from the second seller saying she hadn't heard from the buyer so if we were still interested we could have it (for less than we originally bid!!!). But we have to wait til tonight as she's given the other buyer an ultimatum. We're all holding our breath... :anxious:

what are you looking for?

We have just listed our trailer tent yesterday Trigano chantilly 2007 model with extra awning.

Hubby got a contract working away from home so had to get a caravan and a trailer is not suitable for 6 months permanent use. Quite gutted as we loved the trailer tent last year but we had to get a caravan. (Although I love that now too!)

We're looking at Conway models and pretty ancient ones at that! I imagine yours is a superdooper one if it's 2007 - I can't even bring myself to look at them as they are way out of our league.

How did you get on towing it? My dad is a bit worried as apparently there were a lot of accidents on the M5 'all' caused by trailer tents!

Easy! ut then again it was Paul that drove!:lol::lol:

Seriously before we had a child we camped ina tent and took a trailer for all the paraphanalia as we still had our dog then and a small car. That bounced a lot!

The trailer tent is much bigger / weightier so bounced a lot less and we never had a problem with it. It wasn't for the fact it was cheaper to stay on a camp-site than than pay hotel fees we would be keeping it, as we wouldn;t have upgraded again to a caravan.

I hope you get what you want Camping is great fun! However I am glad we have a caravan now as next summer we will have 2 kids under 3 and the idea of pitching that with the 2 kids would be impossible!

Hmm.. Know what you mean about trying to set up with 2 littl'uns. Ours are now at the age where them helping really means helping. It used to be much trickier but I remember one year when our daughter taught herself to ride her bike while we put the tent up! One minute she couldn't , the next she could - it was amazing. :D

Just heard that we've got it!! Really really pleased! :D I wasn't particularly looking forward to camping in Yorkshire in our little tent but now I can't wait! It's nothing fancy but it's got everything we need (including a portaloo for the middle of the night trips!) so we're all very happy. :D
