Reikiranf
Carrying on the Flitrap threads, after emptying mine for the first time and then putting it in the recycling bin as it really was too awful for me to wash out I decided to make my own disposable version Not very green I know, but needs must. I made it out of an empty 4 pint plastic milk bottle, I heated up a screwdriver head on the hob and melted four holes about three quarters of the way up the bottle and then used the flitrap bait as they tell you to The result is that it works a treat and is filling up with dead flies nicely And when it's full it will be well wrapped before being put in the bin, which should also eliminate the mass exodus of maggots I had escaping from my recycling bin after my first flitrap experience I hope this helps some of you out there as I know quite a lot of us have found emptying flitraps an experience we don't want to repeat
Rona
Although I haven't use mine yet, I voted 'Yes' as I would definately throw it away rather than try emptying and reusing it. I like your idea of using an empty milk bottle. That is very green actually, as it is better to reuse first and then recycle suitable materials if there are appropriate collections in your area. Hopeully you put the used bag in your rubbish bin and not the recycling one as I can't think of any way that a bag full of dead flies could be recycled. moochoo
Maybe I'm in the minority, I really don't mind emptying the flitrap. I save a large yoghurt pot, empty the nasties into that give the flitrap a good squirt with the hose and re-bait. OH can't do it though it makes him I can understand why people hate it, it does stink!
