Al
Yesterday I noticed that Liza has redness on her legs. Either it wasn't there before or it was much less pronounced, as I cuddle her every evening so would have noticed earlier. Photos of redness here: http://www.utilitygirl.co.uk/gallery/v/Chickens/Redness+on+Lizas_legs/ You can click on the photos to take a closer look. She doesn't seem to have any other problem- she not limping or off her food or showing any other behaviour change. Does anyone have nay advice for me? Thanks in advance! Gamebird
Hi Al It's hard to say from the photos why she's got red legs. Could it be scaly red mite? See *here* for a description (3/4 down the page)
Egluntyne
Can't really see anything tbh. Are any scales lifting and thickened?
Angels4
I couldn't see anything either. But I have to ask. How do you keep your girls feet so clean?
Al
Thanks all for comments. I'm going to take it as positive that people can't see anything! Hopefully it means I'm worried about nothing. I don't think it's scaly leg mite because I can't see any mites. Scales aren't lifting or thickened but I will keep a close eye on her in case that or any other symptoms develop. I didn't think my chickens' feet were clean by any standards..perhaps it just looks that way on the photos
Angels4
Cleaner than my girls. Everytime I put yogurt into the runy the step all in it and the dirt and straw stick to thier feet. I think I'll try a tub in the morning (weather permitting).

Who am I kidding - with the weather we've had lately?
