Hen Watch
You must use OLD eggs. Not fresh ones for hard boiling or you will get the problem you have described. Saint Delia says eggs should be 5 days old for hard boiling. http://www.deliaonline.com/cookery-school/how-to/how-to-boil-an-egg,3,AR.html

Steve.
Over-doing poached eggs in the microwave (using a microwave poacher) saves the bother of boiling them Which I found out accidentally.
Milly
Over-doing poached eggs in the microwave (using a microwave poacher) saves the bother of boiling them Talking of microwaves, a colleague of mine tried cooking an egg in its shell in the microwave. Not surprisinlgy, it exploded. I thought of putting a warning notice on the next box of eggs he got, but I think the message sank in quite quickly!
