Chooks Aloud
I have used the original flitrap now for some time and have been impressed with how it works, apart from the smell on emptying. However, on a recent trip to the local garden centre hubby found/brought me a different version. It consists of a special screw type lid which fits into a 2 litre milk bottle. The flies fly through this lid. You just screw it into the bottle, after adding the attractant, and hang it up. When full, you just remove the special lid and replace with the original milk bottle lid. There is no gut wrenching smell as there is no washing out to be done and it doesn't leak as there are no holes in it - it really is as simple as that. My bottle was full with flies. AND it only cost £2.99. I've just hung another one up with the sugar and vinegar mix (as mentioned in another thread) to see if this works as well. I'll let you know how I get on. If if doesn't work, I'll just buy some attractant. Karen
Egluntyne
What sugar/vinegar ratio do you use? I might give this a try.
AJuff
I use the recycled milk bottle traps. I can't wait to hear how you get on with the vinegar sugar mix.
Angels4
What sugar/vinegar ratio do you use? I might give this a try. I use 1/4 cup vinegar to 1/2 cup "brown" sugar, and for me it works great.

dodomydodo
Please could you tell me the name of this fly trap - I'm trying really hard to keep up with the original flitrap but find the stench almost overpowering at times! Many thanks Sarah
