First Egg

Recommended Posts

Whoo hoo - we have our first egg! It is small and perfectly formed - seems a shame to use it - well almost Can't believe one of our girls has be so kind as to give us an egg so soon! Not sure whose it was, but my four year old reckons Penny said it was hers!

Got back from a horrible day at work, went to let the girls out and was told by our neighbour that they had been quite noisy (not a complaint) and was completely shocked to discover our first egg waiting in the nesting box! So pleased I had to text hubby and a couple of friends to let them know

Also surprised at how friendly they are - I sat down on the patio earlier and within a minute had one of the girls on my lap, I didn't have any food with me, Penny just jumped up and stayed there whilst I stroked her. Normally they only jump up if I have food or it's coming up to bed time!

Any suggestions as to plants with nice bright flowers which chicken are less likely to eat - think I'm going to have to rethink my planting so many plants are disappearing very rapidly!

Cheers,

I didn't get a look in  my son demolished both the first and the second for his dinner and loved them :D:D Hoping I get to try one soon.

With three ladies and three eggs, one each day, am I right in assuming it is probably the same chuck laying one egg each day? Hubby and I are of differing opinions so wondered what you all think?? :?
