I would like to trade up to a cube for our 4 girls and my husband, although 99.9% of the way there, is still balking at the price, despite my doing a powerpoint presentation(not quite) re selling our eglu, resale value, fact that we will have chickens for at least another 10 years which works out at less than a pound a week etc. Any tips for the final push??

lets think about this logically.....he is a man. Is he aware that it has wheels?

Has he seen one close up? My OH was very sceptical until he saw one and saw how sturdy they were and how easy it would be to maintain then he was smitten (but I kiboshed that by getting an Eglu)

Did you not manage to get the Ebay cube then?

nope, sadly the ebay cube shot up in price over the last 24 hours - it eventually went for £620 I think and I had done the maths and worked out that it wouldn't save me enough to warrant a day travelling and putting the darn thing together...news on the hubby front is that, in anticipation of the brilliant advice on here, I had emailed him "just" to remind him of the lead time and happened to mention that I had got a job in that would earn me a tidy sum of money - and then, the piece de resistance, asked him over dinner a few minutes ago as he was a. tired and b. surrounded by children who love lilac, whether he had decided one way or another....oh perfect man said (much to my teens' vomit-miming horror) that he thought I should go for it 100% because it was worth every penny to see me so happy!!! And he hadn't even been down the pub (that I'm aware). So I am off to book online if I can, a LOVELY lilac cube....thank you Omleteers for your ideas - if only our menfolk knew the schemes.. :D

mmm.... a season ticket to Everton would probably be the greatest gift of love a woman (or any living creature) could bestow on my hubby! Maybe I'll get him a lovely present from the chickens so he knows how much they appreciate his generosity! :)

Everton?

Is the man ok?

No offence...we are all Liverpool in our house.

:D

My family are split down the middle between Everton and Liverpool. My Mum was an Evertonian and Dad is a Liverpudlian. Dad's family used to come to ours every Saturday and go to Goodison one week and Anfield the next. Then they'd all come back to ours for dinner.

I hasten to add that I used to live in Anfield, Liverpool. We didn't commute from Suffolk!
