Cate in NZ
I frequently berate myself for not coming up with the quick answer or witty retort to something fast enough, and I had to be impressed by a lady I met today....I wish I was that quick . I was out in town today, doing a few essential bits & bobs when I noticed a lady looking at me. Catching her gaze I naturally smiled at her, whereupon she approached me and asked how I and my daughters were doing, and saying that it must be at least a year since we'd seen each other last, so we had loads to catch up on. I have a son and a daughter and have been in NZ for a little less than 3 months, so it has to have been a case of mistaken identity. I think I must have looked pretty blankly at her effusive greetings since I had never, in my life, seen this woman before and her comments kind of confirmed to me that I really didn't know her. In that kind of mistaken identity scenario I'd have felt embarrassed and quickly slunk away, but this lady was dead , and just said to me ' you don't remember me do you.......keep thinking about it and you will, I promise". I've been thinking about it all day.....I really don't know her, but how cool to pass her error in mistaken identity onto me. I wish I was that quick , I almost feel guilty for not recognising her
Scramble
I know, I only come up with the perfect thing to say, after the person has actually left.
Guest
Could you have met her when you visited 18 months ago? Otherwise, how very funny!

Phonix
wierd! When she asked how my daughters were doing I would have said that one was doing fine as was my son and next time she saw any others she should ask and forward their details on to you as you'd love to meet them
Mutrix Farmers
How odd! I think of brilliant things I could have said usually an hour after the opportunity arose!!
