shelley8179
Ive just been to the Royal Berkshire show and seen the eglu and cube and they are so cool. We already have an area were our chickens live but it has a wall behind it and I dont know if there would be enough room to pull the tray out so could someone tell me how much room you have to have behind the eglu to get the tray out? Thank you.
Ain't Nobody Here
Hmm, if it wasn't pitch black outside I'd go and measure it for you . I'll try to remember to do it for you in the morning .
Milly
The trays are quite long - if you look at the measurements of the cube they are probably not much shorter than that. Milly
Angels4
Hi Shelly.Welcome to the forum from across the pond. I had my Eglu apart for a good cleaning today when I came across your post. While I was reassembling I was able to get a good pictue of the tray pulled out from the eglu. The length of wood near the tray is 36 inches or 3 feet long and as you can see I still have plenty of room to move it about. and from another angle........ The bit of wood and metal at the back of the tray is a garden trellis which is placed maybe 3/12 or 4 feet away from the back of the Eglu. Seagazer
You do need quite a bit of space at the back. In my garden I have a fence behind the cube and its quite tricky to pull the tray out without tipping the contents on the floor as I maneouvre the tray completely out (does that make sense?) Ian47
Hi, Just been out and measured it for you. The cube is about 34inches long and the poo trays are about 30inches long so you'll need about 5 and a half feet in total length wise to site the cube and get the poo trays out. Redwing
I guess its easier to work in a more confined space if you have an Eglu as you can scoot the tray along the ground where if you have a cube you have to support the tray as it pulls out and then manhandle it towards you but I guess they made the cube trays in two halves to make this easier!
