Guest
For the princely total of £2.50 I bought a very funky chicken, 2 blue mixing bowls and the bargain on the right. I knew what it was when I saw it and the woman sold it to me for 50p even said they are about £16 in the shops. I've used it tonight and it's BRILL! For anyone who doesn't know what it is (not many if I'm correct about how well we all know the Lakeland catalogue!) it's a bread slicer. Here it is - for just under £18! http://www.lakeland.co.uk/evenslice/F/keyword/bread+cutter/product/1951 I thought they looked handy when I saw them in Lakeland but I also thought for something thats a bit of plastic and metal they were VERY overpriced! BeckyBoo
Hey Pengy I've got EXACTLY the same chicken! Found mine (or rather my Mum id ) in the local Sally Anne - I think she only paid a couple of pounds for it too!! Excellent finds! jlo
How sad that the minute I looked at the photo I thought, "oooh, a bread slicer!" Message to self: Don't look at any more Lakeland catalogues!
Egluntyne
I recognised it straight away too. I spend far too much time and money at Lakeland. Love the chicken.
Ain't Nobody Here
What a bargain - I love the chicken . Have to say though, what does the bread slicer do that a bread knife and a chopping board doesn't ?
Guest
It helps you cut the bread straight and not 2 inches thick! You can cut lovely straight thin slices!
Lesley
....and, more to the point, it cuts slices that are the same thickness all the way down! When mine wore though, I did change to their bread knife with the upturned handle and I can cut very decent slices now. What a bargain for just a couple of pounds Pengy! Tiggy
I've never been to a car boot sale - sad I know- but it looks like a good place for bagins, I have all sorts of bargins (junk really) to get rid of, maybe I should investigate our local one - no idea where to start though
Guest
ROFL - I KNEW you lot knew the Lakeland catalogue backwards! I remembered this from the last time I was in the store - I thought "what a great idea" then I saw the price and thought "no way!". So I'm happy now!
