Speaking of flying....

Recommended Posts

I have to fly to Minneapolis today for work. My flight leaves at 10:45am US (or 2:45pm UK) and already I'm feeling anxious :anxious: Logan AP IMO is one of the WORST airports to fly from, mix that with the rain we are experiencing today and it outta be a bumpy ride. I just feel sorry for anyone sitting next to me as the first thing I will locate is the air sickness bag :vom:

One of the things that strike me, is when the flight crew talks about the seat bottom becoming a "flotation device". Not sure about anybody else, but the last thing I'm going to want to do is hug the seat bottom to my chest after I soil it. :(

Wish me luck.

Oh, poor you :( . Did you catch the recent thread about "fear of flying"? There were a few handy tips in that I think.

I did see it. :D Nothing seems to work for me except high doses of xanex and a stiff gin and tonic (that way I can pass out  ) I have to get right to work when I get there so not an option this time. :(:anxious:

Hope it all goes well. I'll be thinking of you.

My heart started to beat like crazy this morning and that was only because I opened my post and got my tickets for the holiday. Maybe if I start drinking now I'll be ok by the time I fly on the 20th.

We are flying from Cardiff and it was on the news on Monday that pilots coming into Cardiff are having problems with people on the ground deliberately shining lasers into the cockpit when they are coming in to land. They said it's going to cause a major accident soon. Just what I needed to boost my confidence.............not.

Hope the flight wasn't too bumpy for you Mark, I used to tell my fellow crew members (used to be crew before i had my second son) when they used to moan about nervious passengers being stupid , to try putting themselves in a room full of spiders or snakes and see how they would cope ? ( I know i wouldn't) I admire people who face their fears and i know it takes courage to get on a plane when it frightens you. :) so well done you

All went well on both flights. Logan International is IMO one of the worst AP seconded by O'Hare....The landing on the return was quite bumby and the crew forgot to secure the trolly it flew half way down the aisle tipped over and all the contents came crashing out. I thought we were goners, but here I sit safe and sound getting my forum fix. Thanks for all the encouragement. I'm glad to be back.
