lisa33
I found this in the cube this morning. It was quie solid but we didn't poke it too hard. The three girls who are laying all laid yesterday & today and all four chooks don't seem ill at all. Should I be keeping an eye on them just in case? Egluntyne
It is. As long as they seem OK, I wouldn't worry. Just a clear out of the laying tackle. My friend who has kept hens for years, tells me that her dad told her that they were yolks that had whistled through the system without the white and shell being laid down, and that the internal body temperature of the hen had "cooked" the yolk as it passed through. Sounds possible.
lisa33
Thanks Egluntine. It was so hideous. I have been totally traumatised by it. The hangover didn't help either!
Ain't Nobody Here
They are a bit gross . I've never had one, touch wood .
Clur
If it was solid, it's probably an egg-gone-wrong...one of mine only lays once in a blue moon and it's always a strange one!
