having had the money twice (yes twice) this year and ummed and arrghed over buying a cube........even going over to snowy's to look at her dayglow orange (cube orange) and measuring it up (even though it wont fit in the space) i have decided to save up for one as i really do waaaant one.

i have bought for a £1, one of these tins that you cant get into without the use of a tin opener and intend to sell things / save for cube.

i am going to sell a few eggs to the neighbours (whats the going rate for free range / organic?) to put in pot.

i could also ask my family for omlet vouchers (do they exist?) for christmas.

and also my loose change

any other suggestions?

this is what i bought with my last cube money

She's lovely, those eyes. :D

If you can get the money together twice in a year for a cube you wont need our ideas for saving. Come on tell us your secrets.:D

A few car boot sales usually raises a bit of cash. You could hen sit for people.

Good luck.

Aww, definitely a good substitute for a cube  . But obviously you still need a cube  .

Can you persuade lots of people to get an eglu or cube? Then you could get vouchers from Omlet which I'm sure you could put towards a cube!

how do you get vouchers?

its just i have a client at the moment who is desperately wanting one for christmas, and her hubby is rich and famous!!

i save all my £2 coins for holiday spends - each year i've accumulated about £900. leaving me with extra cash which i put aside, i also had a birthday where everyone gave me money.

and i have started to use aldi / lidl for shopping reducing my shopping bill by about £30 per week

It's the Good Egg Scheme. When someone buys an eglu/cube they get a yellow sheet which they can send back saying who recommended that they buy it. That person then gets £20 to spend in the Omlet shop.

I've never actually used the sheet, I just phoned up and gave Omlet the name/address of the person I'd persuaded. They check their records and if they've bought one, you get the "voucher".

You'd have to check if you could use it for a cube and not just in the shop.

I don't think that would matter - it would just be a case of you talking to someone about chickens, and suggesting that they get an eglu or cube.

I don't think Omlet checks with the person that they were "persuaded" by you - the fact that you know their name & address is proof enough, I suppose.

Worth a try in any case - if these people you know end up getting an eglu or cube, phone Omlet and tell them.
