4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

hi i posted a post yeturday about me going to storrs poultry and getting 2 chicks well they are 8 weeks and tiny the pics make them look huge but when you pick them up they are sooo small just click on the link but i have 1 prob how do you think i should go about introducing my 8 week old pekins with my 18 week old silkie?? should i leave them for a couple of weeks? i tried to introducing them this morning but the silkies flared up and where peking them so i removed them because they look to small

They are far too young to be put in with the others just yet Aaron. Even though the silkies won't be huge, they will marmalise the little ones.

Gabbi was bron in December, and mixed in with the others in the April. They had had introductions before then, but that was when we left her with the others permanently

hi arnt they, they look so big on the pics but if any 1 wants a little hen pekin same colour and age there is 1 left at storrs poultry and a few buff and a few cockerals

my daughter took some this morning, i am waiting for her to upload them for me i have to say yours look bigger than mine,

they do look big but honestly they are tiny really small

I know how small they can be... I got mine at 12 weeks and they were tiny then

They went to bed at half 4 today though

 

I feel bad, because I am on half term this week I can let them out early but as I get home from school on monday at half 4 as I'm doing SATs revision after school I wont get to see them...

here are the new pics

i took my silkie hen out of the run and left the cockerel in the run then introduced the 3 hens and they all got on and eating together for about 5 mins then the silke started pecking the silkie's so i took the pekins back inside but i think the cockerel will be a lot harder to introduce am i right how are cockerels like when introducing new hens?

So cute, make sure those silkies leave them alone though, they are just too sweet to be pecked .

thanks for the message, they are gorgeous and tiny they are probably about the same size as mine i guess.

i am keeping mine in the conservatory for now they just seem too small to be out, i have even borrowed a brooder lamp off a friend to use in the night ( i am mad i know )

hi sarah hahahahaha oh thats cute i have mine in my 'animal room' (converted garage all the dogs have beds in there) they are in a big cage full of straw and ive made a little nesting box for them aswell
