Forge Cottage Posted October 29, 2008 Share Posted October 29, 2008 I had almost given up hope that we would get any eggs this year, but after chipping off the ice and first snow this morning, there was a little beauty inside in the nesting box. I took a pic with an egg box for scale, though it looks a bit lonely in there...! Not sure who laid it yet, but Peggy has looked the most likely. Maybe I should go into production The Girls kept trooping in together - always most puzzling for us blokes, so it seemed apt. I just photocopied a loo sign and cut the shape out of some sticky-backed-plastic with scissors... I was never any good at the tinsel hanger Advent Calendar, so this was my chance to prove my skills extend beyond poo-picking! Meanwhile, thanks for your replies and we were delighted to find a second Egg yesterday. Hooray... and we can cook something sensible now! We'd about given up on eggs before the spring, but had a wonderful surprise from one of the ladies this morning. A tiny egg though - I've taken a piccy of it in an eglu box with a "medium" hen egg.
