The 3 D's
Today i went downstairs and my dad said that daisy wasnt right. I went out to see her and she was in the eglu standing up and i think that the reason was that she was trying to lay an egg, but had got stuck or something like that. She has been like this before so i wasnt too worried. But at around 9:45 i saw her half in half out of eglu and she looked like she was dead. I thought oh no not another one dead. So i went outside and she was still alive (thankfully) but she looked like she was in pain. I then discovered that she had caught her leg in between the bars and had twisted it around. I thought oh shes broken her leg! I managed to free her leg and she got up but wasnt walking on it. We phoned the vets and got an oppointment for 4:00 today. About half and hour later she was walking on it. I thought wat a relief. So we cancelled the vets. Has anyone else had that problem before? Ain't Nobody Here
That could've been nasty . I'm glad she's OK . Not heard of chickens getting their legs stuck in the bars before .
poachedegg
That could've been nasty . I'm glad she's OK . Not heard of chickens getting their legs stuck in the bars before . A few months ago, Betty caught her foot in the bars that run along the door of the eglu when it is open. It took a good 3 weeks for it to repair itself.
