Egluntyne
It is a mineral supplement. Just add a little say 1/2 a tsp to a grub full of pellets, especially useful during a moult.

ScottishMike
someone please answer this, as I'm trying to work out a 'minimalist' shopping list for what are the basics I'll need for my chooks when I finally get them, what will be useful but not essential, what would be a nice to have, and what is frankly not needed at all... jomaxsmith
It's a useful tonic, I think, but not necessary as a permanent part of the diet. Jo
Egluntyne
It is just a mineral supplement...not vital at all. It smells like garam massala. I have some knocking about, but rarely use it.
moochoo
I'm using it through the moult but on really cold nights I give them some mixed in with warm porridge as I pick me up. It's not something I use regularly though.
TAJ
It is a mineral & vitamin supplement - I do use in their winter pellet porridge & during moults - it has many spices in it, including ginger, so very warming for feather-less girls on cold days. 1 teaspoon is supposed to be enough for 10 birds - so a tub lasts forever - I am not a quarter way into my tub after about 8 months.
