Chook n Boo Mum
Fancy some company you two? Pam sent me a text yesterday to let me know that she had seen the new Ikea and was excited - I've been waiting for sooooo long to have an IKEA closer than Croydon and Southampton is such an easy drive Christian, I had assumed you would be at the front of the queue with us Ok all you Ikea-mad Omleteers, any room for a little one ? I have sharp elbows and a highly developed huff for any bad mannered barging which can regularly be encountered at the Croydon Ikea ! Can't wait - have to get saving though I think! fowlbird
I want one in Reading. It has been muttered about for years aah... now I heard that there's going to be one just outside Oxford - at Water Eaton http://oxford.openguides.org/wiki/?Water_Eaton_Park_And_Ride Water Eaton Park and Ride is situated on the Banbury Road, just over the A34 bridge from Kidlington. It is next to the abandoned grain mill (which rumour suggests may become an Ikea superstore). Edited November 13, 2008 by Guest

(Egluntine told me about it when she mentioned she got a clear PVC table protector for her girls instead of an Ikea curtain) http://www.dunelm-mill.com/
fowlbird
be strong, Claret... btw have you been to Dunelm Mills? What/where is that? Jct 12 of the M4 is where I go - you'd have to come cross country a bit, I've just googled and that's the one nearest to you. They have a good coffee shop or there's a restaurant and starbucks in the nearby sainsbury's... http://www.dunelm-mill.com/

jackiepoppies
Is it true that one is going to open in Dover? Our nearest one at the moment is at least 3 hours away Jackiex
Cate in NZ
Is it true that one is going to open in Dover? Our nearest one at the moment is at least 3 hours away Jackiex My nearest is in Australia There was one planned to open in Auckland earlier this year, they'd bought the land and all, but Auckland City Council refused permission because they were worried about road congestion. Apparently Ikea have decided not to bother researching a new site, so no Ikea around here for the forseeable future . We have just got Specsavers though, opened their first few stores over here this week with plans to expand. Since both Seb & I need glasses/ contact lenses I'm celebrating that, as optical care over here is horrendously expensive. Envious of your Ikea though, and to think that I used to live a 15 minute drive from the Thurrock one.
Lesley
The new Coventry one has been very, very quiet on all the occasions that my sister or my daughter have visited - they must have been at least half a dozen times and mostly Saturdays
