hi,

Can anyone tell me, once I have taken out the 2 trays and the roosting bars..... I am still left with chicken poo still in the eglu. I climbed in the run yesterday to try and get in but its hard to reach and just as bad from behind...... is there any scrubber on a long arm that eglu sell for this purpose?.... Also its become apparent ( had chickens 4 weeks ) that i need some

sort of proper cleaning products and flea/mite powder to throw around the inside?... Does any

one out there also have a cube and what do you do? MY chcikens hate the super glug as well, i have a pot of fresh water in their area outside the run which they prefer..... AND how

often do they get wormed and how??

ps my cube is on wood chips.... does it matter that water and cleaning products may be falling onto the chips from the underneath of the cube?

Thanks in advance... my girls will be so thrilled..

I don't know about a special tool to clean this poo out, but I gave my girls a good clean out today, & I just use an old scrubbing brush & elbow grease to get the poo off the bottom of the cube, and I'm only 5 feet tall. I just take the cube back off to access all areas

Also its become apparent ( had chickens 4 weeks ) that i need some

I have red mite powder, an old bucket & rubber gloves & Fairy washing up liquid

If you only give water via the super glug then your hens will have to get used to it, like mine did. If you provide them with an "easy" source of water they will always go for that first

AND how

often do they get wormed and how??

flubenvet, a little smudge inside one grape for each chicken for 7 days, every 6 months

ps my cube is on wood chips.... does it matter that water and cleaning products may be falling onto the chips from the underneath of the cube?

i don't know the answer to this, as my cube is outside of my run, sorry

Thanks in advance... my girls will be so thrilled..

Poor you, sounds like you are struggling. Once that stress is gone you can enjoy it.

Think Jaime is right sounds like you haven't taken the back off. If you look inside with the top slid back a bit you'll find bolts each side you pull inwards, then it pulls off completely and cleaning is easy :D

People here put Stalosan f to clean and dust around the bottom. I haven't got any yet but put sheets of newspaper in the poo trays so most just lifts out, rest gets washed off.

Barrier red mite powder is easy to get and I chuck some in bedding in the nest box. Makes it smell nice.

Mine use the superglug but I worry they wont get enough water in summer and they do enjoy water in a bowl when they are out so I think I'll get a drinker for spring.

Ive got mine on woodchip. I dont think the water and cleaning products would hurt just clean it but you can put a bucket under the holes to catch it.

Jules knows the worm bit. Havent got any yet.

Have you thought about doing the door conversion to make getting in the run easy. There are sticky threads at the top of eglu and cube section.

Hope that helps. :D

Come on then tell us about your girls. Are you new to chicken keeping like me or an old hand? :D

When folk jet spray the whole run do they remove the cube from the actual run.....and take the whole thing completely apart? I have been hosing the perches , grey nest door and trays and trying to get into corners.....is this sufficent for the moment? With the damp, cold weather I am loath to do a complete job because of drying etc. Iclear out the trays each dayso it is generally fairly clean. I diatom as well. Thanks! From a guilty chicken owner who hasn't dismantled the whole thing!
