M&S Dine in for £10 offer

Recommended Posts

Arrgh, I couldn't get in this morning and forgot when I was in this afternoon. Mind you the OAP's around here would have cleared the shelves of it anyway. They make our small Food M & S here like a battle ground most of the time.

Same here, for a large town we have a tiny food hall in our M&S, to top that this week i have found out we are getting more home stuff and the top floor will be an Outlet store :( why oh why can't we have more food

Managed to pick up some salmon, veg, syrup puds and the cava. However, I'm disappointed by how much of the food on offer contained chicken (not stated as being free-range so one must assume not). There were whole chickens, chicken pie and chicken & prawn paella. That left fish and chips, veggie moussaka or salmon in our M&S.

Looking at the prices, I was not sure quite how much of a bargain it was:

The salmon was labelled as being £4.49

The cava was £5.49

So that makes the veg and the puds free, but veg is cheap (relative to meat anyway) and the pud were steamed sponge puds which may sell for a couple of pounds in the supermarket but if one was to make them at home (with our lovely free range eggs) I expect they would only cost a few pence. I'm guessing one only saves a couple of pounds on the deal...

Mind you, I needed an excuse to buy some more cava as we are having a mince pies and nibbles evening here on Weds and the cava will go nicely

Well, The Boy came back with the meatballs, roast potatoes, orange juice and sticky toffee pudding.

They had run out of the regular pack of two small puds, so had substituted a big one for the same deal :D

It's a treat for me as I usually cook from scratch, so it's just like dining out for me, no hassle and cheap as chips (sorry  ) :D

The chicken isn't free range unless it says so. I sent an e-mail to M&S about a month or so ago to ask as I had been told in-store that some of their products contained free range chicken but I wasn't convinced. The reply basically said that although they use free range eggs as standard, their chicken products are not free range unless they state so.
