A chickychickychick-ENN!!
My chooks have started kicking over their feeder. They squawk like maniacs until I put it upright again even though the feed ends up all over the floor. I have a 3l drinker and feeder - the plastic economy push-fit ones - both of which are on two bricks stacked two high - so four bricks in total. I think the feeder is too light. Will a galvanised one be any better or heavier? I have considered the glug and grub but I think the mesh on my run is too thin to support them. I have that small square mesh - it's not as thin as chicken wire but not as thick as some other mesh. Any help appreciated. Anna x
stoice
I hang up my drinker and feeder. They are in a home made run so i just loop round some chain and dangle the drinker attached with a 's' hook making sure it's about level with their backs for the right height. Is there somewhere strong to hang your feeder and drinker from? Oh. Re-read your thread, they are the push on ones - no hanging feature. I'd say either buy hanging ones or get some omlet ones and attach to side of your run.
helenmb
I hang mine up too as I found they kept getting their big feet into it and tipping it over even if it was on top of something. I clip it onto a swivel hook (which hangs from the netting by either sturdy twine or a chain) for easy removal and cleaning and it works a treat. This is the kind of hook I use *here*. As they naturally scratch around when they are feeding this allows them to still scratch without spilling the food as their feet go under the feeder . wombatally
I used bricks but now hang them and have no problems at all.
