A new thing since this cold snap - my two have hopped on the window sill and been pecking as if to get my attention. They have everything they need but seem to crave a bit of my company.

My two girls do this all the time... the patio window is full of beak marks!! It's def attention seeking (and it usually works!)

Mine haven't gone quite that far yet but have recently taken to flying on the cube roof to peep through the kitchen window to check if I'm there..... or even better .........filling their treat bowls

Opal is always on the window sill because she is dead nosey! She likes to see what you're doing, the others like to peck at the back door just to get your attention and make sure you haven't forgotten the treats

Mine stand at the patio door looking at the kitchen and sometimes tap on the glass but I assumed they were pecking at raindrops or marks on the glass rather than being smart enough to try to get my attention!

Mine do this, my bench is below the kitchen window, so they perch on the bench and peer in.

Mine beg at the window too. Now I give them their pellets as treats - should have seen the look they gave me the first time! Now they happily tuck into the pellets as though they haven't got any - which they have, but they are too lazy to go back down the garden to eat. Nowadays they just preen themselves at the window - sometimes they watch the TV too but I am not going to put a telly in their cube for them aswell!

Honeysuckle jumps up onto the kitchen window sill - the table is just inside and she usually jumps up to see what we are eating. She and Scarlett also peck at the cat flap and set it swinging, I guess its only a matter of time before they pop through....?

That will be so funny when they do that. Imagine finding the girls waiting in the kitchen insyead of your moggies after you've heard the flap bang.

Mine just tap on the french windows in the hope of treats. This morning they were all huddled on the back step and it was cold, so I made myself some toast and gave them a slice, cut up, with Marmite on. It was a big hit

My three have taken to sitting by the patio doors not sure if they congregate there because it's the only place the sun hits in winter, because they know I will give them a treat or because they know that Oscar my tabby cat likes to lay on the back of the sofa and they can stare him out......... u have never seen a cat move so fast!!! he he, found him upstairs behind the washing bin looking at me as if to say "what the f**k are they mum and how did they get in my garden!?"

 

Have to remember all the poo on the patio when i go outside, bit of a hop skip and jump thing going on at the mo, neighbours already think I am mad, these chickens are just confirming their thoughts!

 

Stiff brush and hose out tomorrow me thinks!

Mine have always done this. I was unsure why but they seemed to be pecking at the raindrops or the reflection. But they do seem to be trying to get my attention. They stand there and preen!!It is so funny

We have a game in our house and it goes like this............"creep across the lounge and see how far you can get before they see you and start jumping up and down (for joy?)"......It'a about half way at present - they thing everytime you come towards them you have something for them. My daughter walked in with her cereal bowl this morning and they just assumed that it must be for them!!!
