vaselining combs etc

Recommended Posts

Is any one vaselining the chickens combs? my chickens are not easy to pick up and am thinking that i might need to do their combs tonight.

Also does anyone who has got their chickens from worldwide poultry have difficulty in picking theirs up? Our dont seem to crouch when we approach them. they are eating corn from our hands although a little nervously.

I have never vaselined combs. Two of mine might let me, but the other three definitely wouldn't. I think I'd only attempt it if they were having problems with their combs, which they haven't so far. As for the crouching and allowing themselves to be picked up, I think it's just the luck of the draw. Some do and some don't. I don't think it's anything to do with the breeders.

Have vaselined my chickens because the temp went down to 5 degrees and i was really worried. They are in an open area and I dont think the cube is warm enough ( all those gaps). :shameonu: .They immediately started to rub it off, anyway at least I tried. :wall:
