I am bidding on a rablu on ebay. The description says that the rablu is two years old. If this is the case would it be a mark I or a mark II?

I have asked the seller for photos and confirmation as to whether it is a mark II but he hasn't replied.

Thanks,

Jan

When I was looking for an Eglu I asked a similar question and someone responsed saying they bought a mark 1 in March 2005 and it was replaced with the mark 2 soon after, someone else responded saying they bought their mark 2 in july 2005 which seems to give a rough answer overall!

As Gallina pointed out to me, be cautious they arent just saying they have had it two years as they may have got it secondhand so it could be older but if your guy is saying its two years old that seems clear cut and you would have cause for complaint if it was older.

I have to admit I am watching the same item and have emailed asking what run it comes with, I havent had a reply yet and thinking about it - the lack of general details and no picture makes me a little more wary about it now!

Do you know whether there was actually a Mark 1 for rabbits or was the Mark 1 just for chickens?

ie If the rablu was brought out later, there may only be 1 version. (I hope I am making sense! :D )

Thanks...I know what you mean but I don't know the answer. I will ask him again about the mark I /mark II issue and if I don't hear anything I will pull out of the bidding.

Thanks for that...it was helpful.

I understand why you are concerned, it does seem odd, but, if they were going to pull a con why make it so onbviously suspect. (unless as a double bluff  ) I wonder if it belongs to someone who lives in London during the week, and goes to the countryside at weekends? This of course doesn't make clear why he is not responding to emails.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Me too. I have sent numerous messages asking for photos or at least clarification as to whether it is a I or II but have received no reply.

Janty, which bidder number are you (feel free to say if you would rather not say) (er, does that make sense). Just curious really.

It would be better if the seller would answer questions but if he/she is that hard to get hold of when they want to sell the rablu, I dread to think how hard they would be to get hold of once the thing was paid for and we needed directions to where we had to pick it up from.

That's my concern. However, they have got a 100 per cent rating.

hard one to judge really.

I know. My top bid was £100 as well so I was really pleased.

AND

It just so happens that we have to drive past Lakeside to collect it so I think I'll be needing a drivers break at Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

:D

I will probably need another break when we get to Ikea as well.

We have just got back home from collecting the rablu. It's in excellent condition except for part of the run (something not mentioned on the auction). I did feel sorry for the seller's Mum. She was a lovely lady who made us cups of tea but she had been left to dismantle the eglu and run and was unable to. Whoever had tightened up the run to the eglu had really gone to town and we didn't have screwdrivers with us so we had to squash part of the run into the in-laws people carrier. It has bent back into shape but there is also a bit of damage to the front of the run. Still a good bargain though as the rablu is for the quail and they will not need the run as they are having their own section in the walk-in run separate from the chickens. The rablu will give them somewhere cosy to sleep.
