Lesley
I can't be bothered to make my own this year so i'd like to buy some......... Did i see mention of one made with butter? - where can I buy it? I thought M&S might do it - and visited the new M&S Food Hall in Stratford today.....they don't do pastry
Cinnamon
I use the ready rolled stuff from Tesco (not Tesco own brand), in the chiller cabinet & it is wonderful. The frozen one is just as good too
Nicola H
Jus-rol make a good puff pastry you can buy it ready rolled or in a block I used it today to make mince pies and it tastes pretty good....
Cinnamon
Yes,thank you Nicola, that the one I use too It is always brilliant, & I now use it on an almost weekly basis. Just remeber to get it out of the fridge an hour before you use it,the ready rolled one,as it can crack otherwise.
chickencam
Jus-Rol for me too I think they might do an all butter one too but I haven't seen it for a while.
The Dogmother
I use the Jus-Rol one too. I remember being taught how to make puff pastry.. life is far tooooo short for that!
Nicola H
I remember being taught how to make puff pastry.. life is far tooooo short for that! Same here Claret it is such a faff making it from scratch and then sometimes it doesn't puff up if you get the folds wrong........... ..lay a little egg for me
Yes, I think the Jus Rol is with butter and the Saxbys uses veg oil.
Lesley
Thank you all! There is a Waitrose in Kenilworth so I'll send Carl there first - if there's none there then he'll have to brave Tesco.....unless Co-op do it. I don't mind making Rough Puff pastry - I use it for making sausage rolls - but as you say, life's too short for making puff pastry
helenc
Sainsburys Taste the Difference do an all butter puff pastry - I have used it next to the jus-roll one and its much more yellow. Its in the chiller rather than the freezer.
Lesley
Thanks Helen - I knew somebody had mentioned that one of the big supermarkets do a butter version. There is a Sainsbury in Kenilworth as well............I'll see if I can get Carl to venture in......
