SusannenoZ
Calling all you london folk, the Hoxton Hotel is in Shoreditch right? Is it way out of everything, don't know london very well, but want to go later in year to see Sound of Music and shop with the girls (daughters not chickens!), will it be easy enough to get everywhere form this hotel? it's so cheap it may be worth it any way, but would welcome views , usually stay in Bloomsbury area you see. Hoxton, Shoreditch (or even 'Hoxditch') is very trendy! Its a bit out to the east, but very easy to hop on a bus or tube to get into the west end. Not sure where the Sound of Music is, but I can't believe it wouldn't be easy to get to. Not walking distance - but London is big! Easy to get to Oxford Street too. The Transport for London website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/ will show you how to get from place to place. But I'd think that from the Hoxton Hotel you could be in Oxford Circus in less than half an hour (which is good) either by bus (no 8?) or tube (central line from Liverpool St?) Nice thing too is that if you go for the weekend, you're just a stroll away from the Sunday morning flower market in Columbia Road, which is good fun! I like Hoxton - I'd go for it! I think its very much Auntie e's home territory so she could tell you about it - think shes on hols at the moment though... Not a central as Bloomsbury but much more soul!! You could easily spend the whole weekend just around that area actually, if you wanted to do alternative type things: you're very close to Spitalfields, Brick Lane - quite a 20s/30s sort of area though...
