Roombas- quick question please....anyone?

Recommended Posts

The things I learn about on this forum!! I had never heard of these until now, so thought I had better Google to see what they are! Do they really work well? It doesn't look big enough to store all the fluff and fur?? How often do you empty it - or does it now where the bin is :) Google sent me to Utube where this video made me laugh. I guess as you know about Roombas you will have seen it already

Ours is called Ruby. Youngest daughter is really frightened of her but loves her at the same time and has even gone up and given her a kiss . Ours works well on hard floors but isn't any good on carpets. That might be because we only have carpets in 3 bedrooms and they don't get vacuumed very often. With 6 dogs we have to empty her after every use.

My Roomba is going away today

I have had it since August and have been very happy but a month ago the brushes stopped spinning so I rang up and got a new brush thingy sent out but now the battery has stopped holding charge and it only cleans for 10-15 minutes :x

I phoned yesterday and City Link are collecting him today but I'm now upset as I am going to be Roomba-less for over a week :x

How will I cope?

Will I remember how to use the Dyson?

Am I going to feel weak and exhausted if I vacuum myself?

Mmm, not a happy bunny!!

I've got the 530 and love it sooo much.

Ooo, just remembered that there is a forum which has loads of Roomba advice and bits.

I had trouble when my Roomba first came as it wouldn't work on my dark blue hall carpet-it kept saying that it was the cliff sensors so I checked it up on the forum and found out how to cover them so it worked fine. (Robot hacking section)

We have two very hairy cats DH and I are at home all day, in and out of thegarden, and I'm amazed at how much carp there is for Raymondo to pick up every day.

I have the one that you can schedule, and it's brilliant. I get him to hoover all our downstairs overnight...he's very noisy, so it took us a few nights to get used to it.

I empty his bin every morning and, because of the cat hair, I check the brushes every other day or two.

I've gone through a number of side brushes; gradually we learned to certain things off the floor before we go to bed, which means we don't lose an arm so often.

He's fantastic.

I've just remembered that Lakeland so one of the Roomba range, not sure which one.

They have an excellent customer satisfaction guarantee, so if you bought it one from them, tried him (or her) and didn's like him (her) you could return for a full refund.

How can you tell the gender? Is it by whether they do a good job or not?
