Just thought I would say that I have posted on the 'free to a good home' page for my hen Ginger a Colombian Blacktail that is being bullied.

She hasn't started laying yet as I only got her just before Christmas. I would like her to go somewhere near me (Bristol) and will deliver her to her new home ( And have a chicken chat!)

give it time, we had the same problem for a couple of weeks with a Sussex, now the Sussex does most of the bullying

If you give her away, surely will the bullies not target someone else? She is lovely, could you not give it more time? Suppose it is hard watching it, does take a while for the pecking order to settle down though.

How far is she off laying - I found that the pecking order changed once they had all come into lay. I would definately try and hold off until the pecking order has settled down completely (or as much as it ever does ).

I agree that you should keep her for a while there are loads of useful info on here about how to hadly bullying, especially from egluntine and Claret!

 

It would be a shame to have to get rid of her, she's very beautiful

I agree with the others that it takes a while for them to establish a pecking order. I'd give it a bit longer before trying to rehome her. Good luck what ever you decide.

I would divide and conquer the bullies if you can. A week or so out of the flock and they will come in at the bottom of the pile.

 

Try for a bit longer with Ginger....she looks a beauty.
