Redwing
I have just had an email confirming my greenhouse is coming next week! We got it from a chap who likes to re-condition old neglected greenhouses - he does a lovely job, its come up looking like new and the chap is even laying the base and putting it all up for us Really pleased and cannot wait! Snowy
Brilliant! You wouldn't happen to have contact details for him would you? I'm considering a greenhouse myself!
Egluntyne
Fantastic. What a fascinating hobby.
Cinnamon
Great news. We really need a new greenhouse as our one is an add shape (hexagonal) & small too. I would like something much larger & an easier shape to deal with too, because I love growing my tomatoes & cucumbers in the summer.
moochoo
Fab news! I'm getting a greenhouse soon too. My next door neighbour sadly lost her husband 18 months ago and he was the gardener of the house. She's asked me if I want his greenhouse as she can't bear to see it standing empty and would prefer to see it full of veggies in my garden. How lovely is that. I couldn't refuse. Tiggy
so exciting, have you decided what you are going to grow Redwing?
Redwing
the greenhouse is 8x10 so will become my second home I think as its only a bit smaller than my living room! I will plant some strawberries in pots to get an early crop and also grow Chillis and the usual tomatoes of course (I think its the law that you have to grow tomatoes if you have a greenhouse!) we want to make our own tomato sauce mmmmm! I have one of those plastic frames & plastic cover greenhouses at the moment which is 6x4 so a good size and have grown lettuce in there all winter which has fed us and the chickens well! Cinnamon - you certainly like your hexagons don't you?! I love the hexagon greenhouses, they are very pretty The chap supplying ours also constructed a dome greenhouse for someone - like a mini Eden Project jobby, I was very jealous of that one. Moochoo - you are lucky to get a free greenhouse, what a generous gesture
Cinnamon
Cinnamon - you certainly like your hexagons don't you?! I love the hexagon greenhouses, they are very pretty Its by default really. The greenhouse is on old conservatory that Hubby replaced for someone years back (thats our trade) The hen pens are on what used to be the swimming pool - the big pen is the exact size of the pool Very exciting at the moment isn't it? New greenhouses, I am getting more raised beds.....I am busy planning away at the moment
