SarahJo
Thought this was one for Lesley and all you die hard Corro fans. Have just come back from John Lewis/Big Sainsbury at Cheadle ..... and "DEV" was at the salad bar in Sainsbury. I did not see him at 1st but OH said "is'nt that one of the coronation st people" . Thought I would start a new topic ..... so we can add our sightings from across the country .

Jangle
I walked past Gabriel Byrne in Tetbury the other day whilst antiquing (he was in the Usual Suspects) and I went to the Old Vic theatre three weeks ago to see Kevin Spacey (who is also in the Usual Suspects). Loads of celebs live around here. I often see Fern Britton at the garden centre.
Sheilaz
Honestly Kate, what'll we do with you! I suppose he was only there because there isn't a deli counter in the corner shop, Sarah. Hope you enjoy tonight Lesley, should be a good gig.

Happymama
Oh purleeees, why are the rich & famous soooo attractive? I used to work on the pan at RAF Northolt - Margaret Thatcher, Ian Smith (80's politicians), Robert Kilroy-Silk, Mike Smith (on The Time & The Place which was on either just before or just after Kilroy, can't remember, but they both had their own planes!) Elton John, HRH Princess Anne, HRH Princess Diana, Prince Charles (Piloting - OMG DUCK!) and Harry & whotsisname, Lord Forte (motorway services catering etc), a million different models, Naiomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, etc etc etc, the list is endless, but I can tell you one thing - the left over in-flight (catering) was AWESOME! And Maggie used to take slippers with her and put them on as soon as she got on, and the first thing she drank was tea. Dennis had a G&T. And another, and another, apparently. Robertson's Jams had a little aircraft, tail number was g-olly (geddit?) and the pilot used to give us the little badges - my mate's got the whole collection and it'll be worth a packet one day, I suspect) All far too un-PC now, I fear. Unfortunately, we stood around in the cold and rain for these people, and in reality really the only thing we were interested in were the caviar blinis. Unless the American Forces were in, then it was bacon sarnies and blueberry muffins and PANCAKES for breakfast. We used to fight for the early shift! Mrs Frugal
No the rich and famous don't do anything for me. I stopped being star struck after I held the door of our local shop open for Ernie Wise (he of the short fat hairy legs) and he never said "Thank you". As a well brought up 10 year old, I lost all respect for celebrities from that moment!
Sheilaz
Kate, I'm the same in that the people I really admire are not celebs, and just being famous does not impress me. However, it is funny seeing a TV face in real life, so familiar that its easy to smile & say hello, then realise that they don't know you. Still, its a lighthearted topic, & its funny you mention Ernie Wise, Kate. I lived in the same town as Eric Morecambe & he was a charming man, everyone loved him locally. My friend & I, aged about 10, were running errands. He was in the baker's and joked around with us. Then, we were in the next shop & Eric came in and acted as if we were the famous ones! Apologising for following us etc. & telling the shopkeeper what stars we were! We just giggled all the way home.
SarahJo
... oh dear .. should I not have started this topic . I only did it because OH pointed "DEV" out to me, and then I immediately thought of Lesley . I then spent most of the time telling Graham, about the cocaine habit and other things..... remember I was the one who had Brooklyn Beckham playing in an empty wacky warehouse with Ben, and had the most bizarre conversation with Davids Mum as I did not recognise her .... "how many grandkids do you have ", "do they live close by " ... she must have thought I was from outer space

Don't worry SarahJo, we love it! And what you said about your previous encounter; Some very famous people prob. really miss just being able to have a chat like you did, don't you think? Cate in NZ
Star spotting- the ideal place to put my little bit of information!! A real star though, far more interesting than the celeb kind The moon is going to look bigger than usual tonight because of some optical illusion, follow this link (fingers crossed, I hope I get this right ) http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=4725075 to find out more about it. I've looked out several times, but it's not going to rise till 10:30, & we've got so much low cloud, sealing all that heat in.... nice, sticky night down here methinks . Thank goodness for fans

Lesley
We've just driven home and were amazed at the moon - it is big and golden. I'll have to go and read why now.
Sheilaz
But tell us if you enjoyed the evening? Did you support the support? Did Suzanne live up to expectation?

motherhen
I took myself up to our second floor south facing room to view the moon at 11.15 tonight but nothing to be seen Don't know if it is too low in the sky to be seen above the houses or if I'm looking in the wrong place Anyway, to cheer me up, if any of you guys with famous contacts could send a couple of stars up here - Orlando Bloom as Legolas, and Brad Pitt as Achilles will do nicely....... motherhen
You can keep baldy Shakespeare down there. Brad and Orlando will do nicely for me
Lesley
At least it's the Comedies this season - I can cope with them. Last year I sat for 4 hours of King Lear - Carl's favourite

Mrs Frugal
Strange that you hadn't mentioned something so awesome before, Olivia I did say I never got starstruck anymore but I was pushed right up against Goran Ivanisevic (the extremely lovely Croatian Wimbledon Champion) a few years ago. It made my birthday, I can tell you !
