Weight watchers help

Hiya - I've got all the books & the new discover plan 2009. I've worked out my points etc, but I have a question. Are the 2 dairy a day on top of my points allowance or do I take them out of my daily points allowance?

I'm starting Monday - all on my own, no classes. Just the support of hubby & the Weight watchers website. I've decided I'll weigh myself every Sunday evening.

I'm scared as my dad has had diabetes tests today & my mum is very obese with a lot of weight related problems (struggles to walk, bad feet, bad back). I don't want to end up the same way & want to be a healthy aunty for my sister's baby. Time for some changes! I shall be buying that treadmill after my holidays! :D

Can't help I'm afraid, never done WW but know a few people who have with really good results, so just wanted to say I'm feeling full of girl power today, so winging some your way to say good luck and go for it. Hope it really works for you, just think of all the health benefits (and all the fab summer dresses you'll have to buy for your new wardrobe if it works! :lol: )

I just wanted to wish you GOOD LUCK :clap: I'm starting my WW diet on Monday but just doing it with the books. The website is too expensive for me and I don't like going to the classes and I've done it before so hopefully should be ok without any outside assistance from WW.

Good luck with it Emma. I've lost weight with WW in the past (pre children) and it's a great diet - very sensible. Kimmy is correct, the dairy is included in the points. Done correctly you should get a good balance of everything you need. I think it's this balance that makes you feel less hungry. In one of my books there is a recipe for minestrone soup, I think it's only 1 1/2 points per serving and it is very filling and dead easy to make. If you haven't got it just shout and I'll post it here.

not sure about weight watchers but I did slimming world and your dairy allowance was on top.

 

 

Just to give you inspiration. I weighed myself at Easter last year and weighed 12 stone 10. I joined slimming world straight after Easter and gave myself the target of my 40th in August to be a size 12. On my birthday I weighed 10 stone 7lb and wore a pair of size 12 Betty Barcley trousers (treat).

 

My tip would be. Plan for the day, don't get to a meal time and panic cook. Always have something in your handbag that you are allowed to eat. Change the families habits most times my lot didn't realise they were eating low fat. Treat yourself once a week but don't feel bad about it. Give yourself a goal, an event or holiday. The people who never lost as slimming world were the ones who were just loosing weight because they had to.

 

The great thing about slimming world is, eggs are a free food.

Hi Emma

I lost nearly 2 stone with WW, I reached my target a few weeks before Christmas and I've kept it off. I found the diet really good and was never hungry. The dairy is to be included in your points, the idea is to try to use most of your points on healthy foods and not use them all on snacks.

The zero point soups are great, especially if you want to save points for a special meal.

The Moroccan Sweet Potato Stew is yummy, 2 points, my family all loved this.

 

Make sure you weigh everything and write every thing down.

Hi I've shed 2st on WW and planning to lose another 1.5 st. You need to count your dairy in your points asothers have said but if you are eating plenty of dark green veg (but crucially NOT spinach) you will be getting quite alot of calcium anyway, also of you live in a hard water area there is calcium in the tapwater!

I'm never hungry on WW, my diet is varied and tasty and the meetings are a riot. Please come over to the Healthy Eating thread!

That's spooky - I'm about to sign up with WW online! I've lost weight with them before but the usual story I fell by the wayside and need to lose it again.

 

I remember that I never felt hungry when I was on it though.

I've been doing WW online since May and lost over a stone to get to goal by November. I managed to maintain for 3 weeks or so but then along came Christmas and I've put 7lbs back on. So I'm starting again right now.

 

I find the message boards really helpful (bit like these, actually!)

 

Anyway, good luck to every WW-ing Omleteer!
