My 3 girls will be sleeping indoors tonight...........

Recommended Posts

I got all obsessive after Frenchie got stolen. I still am & I trust no one! Hubby goes mad at the lack of trust I now have in local people, but I can't help it. I am suspicious anyway of any funny goings on. I should have been a private eye!

We now have CCTV & a big lock on the shed. But the eglus & cube are vulnerable still & there is also daytime when they free range.

I wanted sensor tamper alarms, infra red beams etc etc. But we get bats, cats & birds round our garden, which would set off something. It's horrible.

I know I shouldn't label everyone the same, but I have really gone of people.

just caught up with all this...

what a nightmare, this is not a suggestion made in jest, but what about spraying Ukadex along your femce tops, or where they climb in.

The police could at least know who they are even if they don't have proof!

Although on a frivorless note, what a great idea ..sensors attached to row of Ucadex sprays.

We had a peeping tom around the back of our houses some years ago - we all got together and manged to catch him in the end. With terraced houses it was so easy for him to hop over from one garden to the next.

PIR lights are the first things that crime prevention officers recommend, wobbly trellises on top of your fences are the next. CCTV is fine so long as it is only aimed at your own property.

Shed crime always goes up when the car boot season looms

Thanks everyone for all your support,

I didn't sleep very well last night but the girls certainly did. They were not for going back out into the garden this morning :notalk: . They kept running back in  , I fear I have made a rod for my own back, but at least they were safe.

As far as we know there were no more attempts last night, so hopefully they were caught, more likely though they've moved on to some other poor souls :( .

Socco found no finger prints when they came today, they said the criminals must have been wearing gloves. I was at work but they were chatting to my OH as apparently one of them used to keep chickens so he was admiring my girls  .

I think the ukadex and purple spray traps sound a very good idea  , i must work on a design  .

have you thought of getting a dog? My border collies are very good guarddogs. The all live in the house but bark at the back door at any noises in the garden...They are fine with the chooks and keep Mr Fox at bay as well. love Sue xxx

I don't think our lifestyle would be fair on a dog. OH can be away all week and I work full time and odd hours. The cats and chickens forgive us our comings and goings but it wouldn't be fair to a pooch. It is such a good idea though.

You work it out am sure lots would buy it, :)

What about one of those cheap door alarm thingys, the ones that go of if it is openned, they are pretty simple am sure you could rig one up so that if the Eglu is openened or under if it moved the alarm would go off.

It would only work the once though as they are easy to switch off!
