Storms in France

Recommended Posts

We have spent a lot of time in the Lot, near Figeac/Cajarc.

I think these storms hit the coastal areas and the Vendee has suffered - we were near Marans, near La Rochelle last summer and the owner of the gite we rented said there has been a lot of damage.

How bizarre, we also spent last year's holiday in the Vendee, in the Mervent forest.

Another Omlet coincidence!

Our favourite bits of the Lot are around Castlenau-Montratier (a distant relative used to live there  ) and also the Cele valley - every time we go back I have to visit the Pechmerle caves to make sure the spotted horses are still there, and every time I am stunned by how beautiful they are!

DH's uncle lives in Dinard. He phoned on Thursday and said the storm warnings were so bad that the fishing boats were not going out overnight. Perhaps we should have rung to check he was OK? :?

:D Hello everyone :!:

Well yesterday was certainly stormy, even in our part! Terrific snowstorms that didn't settle with very high winds and rain. Several short powercuts, not fun when you've only got dial up! Garden looks a bit like a field of mud and the chooks seem a bit fed up.

Today we have beautiful sunshine, clear blue skies and temperatures of approx 9deg.

I love Figeac....I ended up in hospital there when a very nasty beastie bit me on my eye!

Hope everyone else survived the storms OK.
