mccroft
Well let them out this morning, they were all tucked up altogether at 7.30am so maybe I was a bit too early Dora comes out first and hasn't stopped chatting. Not heard any of the others yet. Is it likley that Dora is making herself heard because it's all new or maybe to announce she's incharge. The run is at the end of the garden and we can't hear her in the house so assuming the neighbours can't.
BeckyBoo
Morning, could be a bit of both, she might be trying to "get in there first" with the pecking order or she might just be a noisy hen! As they're so new I expect it will settle down after a few days, once the others get their confidence she'll probably get well and truly sat on! Anyway, enjoy your hens, not very nice weather for it but I'm sure you'll still spend a fair amount of time outside today BeckyBoo
ClaireG
Mine are being noisey this morning as well! We put the 3 new girls in their coop next to my other 3 in the eglu. I thought it would help with intros if they could see each other as although they have seperate accomodation im hoping to freerange them together and that i can save for a cube so they can eventually all be together. mccroft
Thanks, well this afternoon she seemed to quiten down a bit. She is pecking the others and poor Lola seems to be at the bottom. I think a few more food stations will help. A couple went to bed and she went in and kicked them out, but wasn't noisey and it wasn't dark so maybe she was telling them off. Anyway all were in bed and quite by 5pm so maybe she is starting to calm down.
