Ain't Nobody Here
Welcome to the forum, Easy . Sorry you've got a poorly girl . I've no experience of that but there have been a few threads about something which sounds similar. Hope that helps . Plum
How scarey. As ANH says there have been some posts recently. If I remember rightly it was treated ok.
sparkysmum
Hello Easy & welcome from me too. Sorry to hear your lady has a sore eye. Perhaps a trip to the vet if it doesn't clear up soon. Hope she is OK Allisonx
Daphne
It is most likely to be mycoplasma - take her to the vet and get some anti-biotics to clear it up asap so it doesn't weaken the bird or spread. Even if its not myco its not 'usual' and I would get her to the vet for a diagnosis.
Egluntyne
I agree with what has been said, that it is typical of mycoplasma, and would urge you to take her to the vet. Let us know how you get on.
The Dogmother
Sounds like it to me too - if so, it will need treating quickly as it can afffect the egg tackle if left to progress.
likeastar--x
the vet should prescribe baytril and reccomend that you bathe her eyes in salty water to clear away any nasty scabbyness around the eyes left by the bubbles. mine were so bad her eyes closed up from the bubbles, but shes fine now mycoplasma can get nasty if not treated, but youve caught it on time, and aslong as she gets some baytril in her, shell be fine. Dont panic too much!
likeastar--x
any updates?
The Dogmother
the vet should prescribe baytril and reccomend that you bathe her eyes in salty water to clear away any nasty scabbyness around the eyes left by the bubbles. Please don't use salty water as it will sting the chook's eyes - use cooled boiled water, or cool, black tea.
