THE ONE SHOW - TONIGHT (THURSDAY 31st)

Recommended Posts

Very, Very dissapointing. All the focus on infection and disease may put potenital chicken owners off! I thought it was unecessary, especially looking at the Barn farming aspect! :(

Karen you did really well, did you get given a script?

===Martin===

No script Martin :!: we had to wing it!!!

What the hell were they playing at?

not only did they just scare monger it, but they didn't say anything about the fact that Omlet chickens are fully vaccinated, they didn't talk about the Eglu, and they then went to a commercial breeder/egg seller!

Please everyone, send them another e-mail and ask them why they made it sound like a mine field of disease ridden animals.

Very unhappy about this article - I have e-mailed them already and said this (although I forgot to ask them why they spoke to a commercial breeder/egg seller)

 feelings towards the BBC!

Oh yes - WHY did they have to say on TV that I live on a Council Estate - GOITS!!!!

Well, I think it was a shame that the focus of the article seemed to be on disease & general negativity.......Here are my thoughts,& the thoughts of my family too.

1 - The van looked great, did Johannes wash it especially ?

2 - The Eglu owners all did really well.I was so happy to see you all & felt like we were all part of a happy little chicken keeping community, which of course, we are

3 - If they had shown a bit more of Johannes, they would get more orders

4 - They could have let him have a say too.He is a great spokesman for Omlet & for people who want to keep chickens. Why did the farmer ,who doesn't even NAME his hens, get all the air time?

5 - Not enough was said about they way we keep our hens & the way the farmer keep his. This is something that could & should have been a focus of the article, rather than the scaremongering about disease that went on.

6 - Nonetheless, well done to those who organised the feature & inspired us all to email the show. Hats off to you :P

They actually spent ages filmingJohannes and I talking about eglus and the chickens and being vaccinated etc, and then Johannes again seperately talking about healthy chickens and vaccinations. They didnt show any of that, I get the impression they didnt want Johannesin it bcause he had an Omlet sweatshirt on with a logo and they didnt want to be seen advertising.

I did feel they spent too long at the chicken farm looking at all the negatives. I will email htem or phone them tomorrow as they asked for my feedback!
