You cannot tell from the photo but the area of the garden is slopping, its a real pain :? So the Eglu and run was not level. OH had the idea of putting it on decking so that it was nice and level and you can stay relatively clean while going to the Eglu :D The area under the run is not on the decking so my girls can scratch around happily in the dirt. He also put the run skirt under the decking on top of the decking frame :D I am so pleased with it, he worked so hard. He did it all in a day :D Lastly he brought me a little plastic shed and added a light that I keep all my chicken stuff in (behind the plant) 8) He was fed up of finding feed all over the garage where DS throws it around

 Well done to OH!

Really clever ideas with the run still having ground for scratching yet secure with the skirt under the boards.

I am v  of your shed! That is the kind of think I would like from Jack Valentine....pah to flowers and engagment rings.. I want something chicken related!

Paola where did you get your little shed /store from?? :)

OH said that he got it from Wickes and it was about £149 however Homebase do one that is half the size for about £75. They come flat packed and do not need any tools for assembly 8)

He was beaming after reading all of your lovely comments :wink:

The shed is the same style as the first one Palmer07 but larger :D The lid opens up and is supported by side arms, also has two large doors at the front. Very handy :D It comes with shelf brackets but no shelves so OH made one up for me :D I keep spice, garlic etc on the shelf, I have some Ikea storage bin things for my corn and bedding and a plastic bin for me pellets. With plenty of room to spare :D

I like the second cos the chooks can use it as another level to jump about on and I can sit on it whilst I have my morning coffee with them....much comfier that the bucket currently in use! In fact.... that's decided I will purchase tomorrow!

You OH may have created a new Omleteer MUST HAVE!

We have one of these just outside our cube run - it's great for sitting on and the seat lifts up for storage:
