ClaireG Posted February 10, 2009 Share Posted February 10, 2009 As some of you know, i've been having a rather trying time of it with the LEA. I spoke to the Advisory Centre for education last week, who told me to launch an official complaint. They also told me that the LEA should have placed Adam in a school as an intrim measure whilst the LEA amended the statement and refered me to the relevent section of the SEN code of practice. I sent my complaint to the LEA stating that I wanted Adam in school for the 23rd. This could either be in the school we had chosen if they felt they could meet his needs or intrim measures would have to be made until we found a suitable other school, also quoting the section from the code of practice. I received an email yesterday stating the school was to give a decision on the 17th, so on the advice of the Parent Partnership i emailed school to ask if they could give their decision earlier so that we could prepare Adam. The result is i've just had an email from the LEA saying that they don't normally email parents but they wanted to let me know Adam can start at the school we want on the 23rd and that they will reply to my complaint in a letter.
